Careers at Ukigai
Work with us
Help us build calm, human-centered HR software—so people everywhere can find clarity, trust, and purpose at work.
Build something that matters
Ukigai exists because work can be more than tasks and tools. We design software that helps organizations run fair, understandable people processes—so employees and HR teams spend less energy on noise and more on what actually grows people and the business.
If you care about craft, empathy, and systems that respect real humans, you will find peers here who feel the same. We are a small, intentional team: every role touches the mission, whether you ship code, design flows, support customers, or tell the story.
The Ukigai values
These six principles are the core of what we assess when someone joins Ukigai. They shape how we interview, how we give feedback, and how we decide if we can grow together—not as a checklist of perfection, but as a shared language for trust and impact.
We believe calm, understandable systems beat complexity for its own sake. We look for people who simplify, explain, and document in ways others can actually use—whether in code, copy, or conversation.
Security, honesty, and reliability are non-negotiable. We assess whether you do what you say, protect what we are entrusted with, and own mistakes early—because our customers trust us with sensitive people data.
Details matter: in product, in process, in how we run a meeting. We want teammates who take pride in quality, iterate with intention, and leave things better than they found them.
Our users are employees and HR teams—not abstract accounts. We hire people who show empathy, respect boundaries, and stay curious about others' contexts, including across cultures and time zones.
Saying no to busywork and yes to what truly helps is hard. We value judgment about where to spend energy—strategic focus, not heroics or burnout culture.
We want you to bring your strengths and stretch in new directions—feedback welcomed, learning expected. We look for people who lift others as they grow, in line with our belief that everyone deserves a path toward their Ukigai at work.
How we hire with these values
Interviewers explore real examples from your experience—how you simplified something messy, how you recovered from a mistake, how you advocated for a user or teammate. We are not looking for people who memorize our website; we are looking for judgment, humility, and curiosity that lines up with how we serve customers. Alignment does not mean agreeing on everything—it means you understand why these values matter for our product and our culture.
